Material selection. The selection of materials is very important and must be done by experienced workers. Choose a quality wood with uniform texture and no cracks.

Sawing wood. Saw the wood into pieces according to the thickness of the eyewear, and then cut into small pieces according to the size of the glasses. In the process of cutting, must pay attention to the surface of the wood block and make it as delicate as possible.

Inner-rim milling and outside-rim milling. The traditional process is called slicing. Slicing refers to drawing the required curvature and thickness of the front or temple on the paper, and then fixing the drawing on a 30 cm square wood block, and sawing the square wood according to the arc on the drawing. It is a curved wood with a thickness of about 1 cm, and its shape and size are similar to those of tiles. This process has high technical requirements for the operator. It needs to have good coordination, otherwise it will be sawed crookedly, thus waste raw materials. However, with the advancement of technology, this step is generally completed by CNC machines. We only need to make drawings in advance, set up various data, and then leave it to the machine to complete.

Bend. The traditional craftsmanship is to use a saw, so this step is also called bending by saw. Bending by saw refers to sticking a drawing with temple shape on the sawing slice with glue. The drawing must be flat, without wrinkles, and the drawing must be tightly attached to the sawing slice. After the glue being dry, saw it into strips according to the drawing, which is the roughly shape of temple.The sawed temple already has an arc, so there is no need to heat and bend it. 

According to the wood characteristics, the wood glasses could not only select to be bent by saw but also be bent by heating, which is different to the bamboo glasses that must be bent by heating.The difference from the bending of bamboo glasses, which must be baked at a high temperature, is that the wood can not only be sawed, but also baked, which can be selected according to the characteristics of the wood. However, there are exceptions. Since the mahogany is relatively brittle and easy to break, so it must be bent by sawing. Like inner-rim and outside-rim milling, most of this step is now done by machines.

Polishing. Like other types of glasses, wood glasses also need to be polished. After cutting the material, inner-rim and outside-rim milling and bending the frame, the semi-finished product is rough. First, it should be polished roughly. After the rough surface is smoothed with the grinding wheel, the next processes are rough tumbling, second tumbling and finish tumbling by three different levels of machines. Finally, it needs to be polished manually and will be more shiny;

Assemble normal hinge or spring hinge. Unlike acetate eyewear frames, wood glasses must be assembled manually after CNC placement for the normal hinge or spring hinge , and then fixed with screws to connect the front frame and the temple.

oil.(上油) After the acetate glasses and horn glasses finished, the surface generally does not need to be sprayed oil. We know that the surface treatment of metal eyewear frames is electroplating or epoxy color, while the surface treatment of wood glasses is similar to the epoxy color, which we generally call oiling spraying oil. In order to perfectly present the characteristics of bamboo and wood, varnish is generally used to enhance the brightness and maintain the natural tone of bamboo and wood. Other colors can also be sprayed if customers have special requirements.

Assembly. This is the last processes: mainly assembly, install the lens, wiping and quality inspection. The inspected eyewear are packaged according to the customer's requirements, usually put into the PE bag first, and then put into the inner box. Because the wooden glasses are relatively hard, it is best to have a buffer material in the middle of each layer, and each box should not be too full to avoid crushing or causing rupture.
