Why do the prices of glasses vary so much?

Some people spend tens of yuan to buy a pair of eyewear, some people spend thousands of yuan to buy a pair of glasses, and some even tens of thousands of yuan. Why do the prices of glasses vary so much?

Based on the experience accumulated in our daily life, we can first think of the first factor: the quality is different. The same product, even if the same material is used, the difference in production process and the ability to control details will still lead to differences in quality. Good quality glasses are naturally more expensive.

In addition to quality reasons, what other reasons? After two years in the eyewear industry, I would like to introduce to you:

2、the frame material is different, the lens material is different.

Frame material is different:

At present, the commonly used frame materials mainly include natural materials such as plastic, cellulose acetate, metal, titanium and horn. Glasses made of these materials are called as the names suggest: plastic glasses, acetate eyewear, metal eyewear, titanium glasses and buffalo horn glasses. Among them, the price of plastic is relatively low, the process is relatively simple, and the price is the lowest. cellulose acetate and metal materials are moderately priced, and they are the most important types of mid-to-high-end glasses, and they are also one of the most popular glasses on the market. The price of titanium materials is much more expensive than that of plastics, cellulose acetate , and metals, and the processing technology is more complicated, so the price of titanium eyewear is relatively expensive. Due to the scarcity of horn materials and the difficulty of processing, horn glasses have always been synonymous with luxury glasses, and the price of horn glasses is also the most expensive.

Lens materials are different: commonly used lenses include glass lenses, PC lenses, CR39 lenses, nylon lenses and poly lenses. In addition to the difference in the material of the lens itself, there are also various coating processes attached to the lens: strengthening film, waterproof film, oil-proof film and coating layers of various colors. These lenses are compared: PC lenses are the cheapest, followed by CR39 lenses, nylon lenses, glass lenses, and poly lenses are the most expensive. Except, of course, the cheap TAC Poly films.

3. Different styles of glasses.

Under the premise of the same material, the simpler the style, the lower the cost, and the cheaper the price; on the contrary: the more complex the style, the more complicated the process, the higher the cost and the more expensive the price!

4. Different brands

Glasses with the same style, quality and material, different brands have different prices. When we buy glasses, we will choose the brand we like. For the same type of glasses, the price difference between different brands can be huge.

5. Different sales places: There will be differences in the prices of stores in different places. With the emergence of online sales now, the prices will be different.

6. Different sales times: When new products are just launched, the prices are often more expensive. As the heat of the market fades, in most cases, the price will come down little by little.

In addition, there may be other reasons, welcome to add.
